I am getting married in three weeks and just found out that I am supposed to get gifts to give My Parents and my Fiance’s Parents to give at the rehearsal dinner. I was planning on getting them both a coffee table book of our wedding pictures but I won’t get that until months after the wedding. So what is an inexpensive gift that I can get them for the rehearsal?
Chosen Answer:
My daughter got married a month ago and gave her m-i-l a lovely shawl in one of the wedding colors. She gave me a great pair of slippers (isotoner – arch contour) and a new umbrella (clear and the kind that hugs your body).
They (dd and her new hubby) chose these based on her knowledge of us. I just lost many things, like my umbrellas, in the floods this spring in Iowa.
I don’t know what, if anything, they gave to the fathers (I’m divorced), but I suspect she used the same criteria in deciding.
I suspect the total she spent on each person was between – .
Think of it as any other gift – if you show a knowledge of the person’s interests and/or needs they will feel special and appreciated . This is the reason for giving a gift after all
